Winter In Wisconsin has been unpredictable the last few years. It is warming up a little today with a front coming through. I am hoping that we are on the cooler side of the front and can squeeze out another few inches of snow. We had 4 fluffy inches on Thursday night which has given way to some fun snowmobiling this weekend. The ice fishing has been great, with all of the sub-zero temperatures early last week, the lakes were making ice like crazy.

The ranch has been a little quiet, but this weekend we hosted a local extended family who surprised their mom and dad with a little 60th wedding anniversary party. I do hope all went well, and mom and dad were surprised and excited that their kids would make the effort to make their day special. Spur of the Moment Ranch was happy to play our small part in the surprise.

Next weekend, we have some folks coming in for the fishing derby on Chute Pond. This is the 57TH Annual Fish-O-Rama. There will be raffles, spin wheel, and fireworks at dusk. There are prizes: $25 for 1rst, $15 for 2nd, and  $10 for 3rd largest northern, bluegill, crappie, and perch. There is also a grand prize and other prizes.

If you want to join in the fun Spur of the Moment Ranch has cabins available; our special runs through the end of April. Take advantage, no matter what your getaway, kicking back and chillin’ or playing outside you can be sure that you will be comfortable at the ranch. Ranch special – Stay one night; next night is 1/2 price over and over again. Give us a call or email annm@spurofthemomentranch.org if you want to getaway and enjoy winter in Wisconsin.
