I have routine requests during the course of the winter for snowmobile rentals. You do need to pay attention to snowmobile trail reports to make sure that we have groomable snow to make your experience a great one. Spur of the Moment Ranch does not do snowmobile rentals, we do however link to http://www.americanmarina.com/ ( American Marine & Motorsports) in Shawano that provides rentals. Shawano is approximately 45 minutes south of Mountain on HWY 22. If you are coming up from the south and come to the intersection of HWY 117 and HWY 22; you will need to turn left to go to Shawano. American Marine and Motorsports will come up on your left at the 4th stoplight through town.
American Marine and Motorsports has Polaris 550’s in a single sport version that does not have reverse; and Polaris 550 2-up touring sleds that have hand warmers and reverse. She will outline the cost and terms of the snowmobile rentals; be prepared for a deposit fee; machine rental fee; trailer rental fee if required; mileage fee for sled transport to our location if required. American Marine and Motorsports does provide helmets but no other clothing is provided. Be sure that you have warm clothing, snowmobile suit; or warm jacket and snow pants; warm gloves; hat; socks; boots. You will need them.
For snowmobile rentals where you are able to pull the trailer; a minimum of 24 hours is necessary for the rental. If you need them to transport the sled, 3-4 days is necessary to allow them time to get the sled set up and to the location you desire. American Marine and Motorsports does go through and explain how the sled works; they do not do actual driving education. Snowmobile rentals are similar to car rentals in that you will receive a machine that is filled with gas and oil. You will be required to refill the machine prior to its return to American Marine and Motorsports. If they refill the machine for you; the cost will be higher than if you do it yourself.
Although we are in the middle of winter; keep in mind that American Marine and Motorsports provides summer rentals to make your vacation more fun. They have 20′ and 22′ poontoon boats; 18′ ski boat; 15′ fishing boat; wave runner; and they offer ski and tube packages for rent also.
