On Saturday June 28th you can also stop in at the Joan White Studio from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Joan is celebrating 30 years working as an artist. Her animals in wood are her passion and delight. Her Nicolet Studio and Gallery is located at 15346 Gage Street in Lakewood, WI. There will be wine tasting, refreshments and music there as well.

Tom Weiss Wood CarvingsSome time during the next couple of weekends look for Tom Weiss from Sawyer Stump with all of his unique one of a kind wood carvings. You can usually find Tom located on the grass in front of the Weatherwood Supper Club. A couple of weeks ago he carved and delivered a beautiful wood bench with bears incorporated into it. Stop by and see what he will be working on next.

On the 4th of July, don’t miss the Parade in Breed that steps off at noon. It is the largest bicycle give away in the state. This parade is quite unique, it leaves the ball diamond across from the AA Bar; heads east up to HWY 32; and then it folds back on itself, and heads back to ball diamond. The event is sponsored by the Breed Sportsman Club. Come be a part of the fun. Food and refreshments available after the parade.

North Woods 4th of July fun is happening in Mountain as well. There is horseshoes at 10:00 AM; a pool tournament at 10:30 AM; DJ by Digital DJ at noon; Water Fights at 1:00 PM; South Branch Band at 7:30 PM; and Fireworks at Dusk. Refreshments available all day. The event is on Saturday the 5th of July at the Mountain Community Center on HWY 32/64. Can’t miss it.

Lakewood Supervalu is sponsoring a KIDS Watermelon Eating Contest at 1:00 PM on July 9th at the town hall & pavilion. There will be prizes. Come and watch the fun.

July 11-13, there will be  Lakewood Mardi Gras Festival. This celebration has been ongoing for 59 years. There will be a carnival, , live music, refreshments, games, softball tournament. There is a parade at noon on Sunday. The event is located at the Lakewood Town Hall and Pavilion.
